Peacock or Broomstick Lace -
is done using a large knitting needle or dowel or broomstick handle. The size
should be approximately 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch in diameter. This is if you are using worsted weight yarn.
Supplies to bring:
-There will be many of these needles available for use if you do not have one to bring. Knitting needles size
19, 35 or 50 all will work. Straight needles work best.
-Bring a crochet hook for use with worsted weight yarn, a hook 4.5-5.5 mm, also known as I-9 up to a K-10
- Also bring a crochet hook 2 sizes smaller, E-4 will work
-Bring worsted weight yarn, a light or pastel color is much easier to see.
Chaining with a crochet hook and single crochet are the only skills required to make this lace. It does require
that you do repeated counting.
