February Bicoscornu pincushion

Add a little charm to your stitching with a Biscornu pincushion Class! In this beginner-friendly session, you’ll learn how to stitch and assemble a classic biscornu—an adorable, slightly squishy pincushion perfect for holding pins or gifting to a fellow maker. The CFA Guild is joining other fiber arts groups in and around Chattanooga to celebrate an upcoming event!

On Feb. 20, the Bandy Heritage Center will host a series of lectures on “Textile and Fiber Arts.” This series will focus on the unique textile and fiber arts legacy of Northwest Georgia, from the Cherokee to the multi-billion-dollar tufted textile industry.

Plan to attend this February to hear from Catherine Evans Whitener and Other Women of the Northwest Georgia’s Tufted Fashion industry!

For additional information on the Bandy Heritage Center or directions for this event, please visit www.bandyheritagecenter.org.

2025 Community Project: Hats for Oncology Departments

Community Project 2025

The Chattanooga Fiber Arts Guild is excited to launch our 2025 community project: crafting handmade hats for oncology patients in our area.

This initiative is a heartfelt way to use our skills to bring warmth and comfort to those undergoing treatment. We invite everyone, from experienced artisans to first-time crafters, to join us in creating as many hats as they’d like throughout the year.

These hats will be donated to local oncology departments, providing patients with an extra layer of care and kindness during their journey. Together, we can make a difference—one stitch at a time!
